INTER-AGENCY MOBILITY PUBLICATION

In order to fill in 1 vacant post in REA unit B.2 - Farm to fork, Communities Development and Climate Action, the European Research Executive Agency (REA) is currently looking for a new collaborator as Legal Adviser (contract agent FGIV).

The Unit B.2 supports the European research and innovation community to accelerate the transformative change of the EU economy and society in reducing environmental degradation, in halting and reversing the decline of biodiversity and in managing natural resources while serving the EU’s climate objectives and ensuring food and water security.

To this end, the unit implements, on behalf of the Commission, part of Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 2, the Horizon Europe Cluster 6 (Destinations 2, 5 and 6) and the EU mission “A Soil Deal for Europe”. B2 is responsible for launching calls for proposals and for funding research and innovation projects in order to reach, the following long-term impacts:

• Food and nutrition security ensured for all within planetary boundaries;
• Rural, coastal and urban areas developed in a sustainable, balanced and inclusive manner;
• Climate neutrality achieved by 2050 by enhancing natural carbon sinks and reducing emissions.

REA is a multicultural and dynamic body set up by the European Commission in 2007, originally for implementing parts of the Seventh EU Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration activities. In 2021, the Commission again extended the REA's mandate, until 2027, delegating to it additional actions of Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.

The successful candidates will work in Function Group IV as Legal Adviser. The level of responsibilities is set in accordance with the Function Group.

As part of a team of 3 lawyers and under the supervision of a Head of Sector, the successful candidates will carry out the main functions and duties as described in detail in the enclosed Vacancy Notice.
