Organisation
Mandated by the European Commission to support the EU Research and Innovation policy, the European Research Executive Agency (REA), funds high-quality research and innovation projects that generate knowledge for the benefit of society. The REA also manages promotion measures concerning agricultural products.
Accordingly, the REA's responsibilities are to:
•Manage research projects supported under Horizon Europe, the world's largest framework programme for research and innovation to date, running from 2021 to 2027.
•Manage research projects supported under Horizon 2020, the previous framework programme for research and innovation (2014-2020).
•Implement the European Union programmes Promotion of agricultural products and Research Fund for Coal and Steel, as well as ongoing projects funded under the EU's 2014-2020 budget.
•Assist funding and tender applicants, beneficiaries and independent experts.
•Manage the European Commission's Research Enquiry Service, which answers questions from grant applicants, EU-funded researchers and the public.
•Support independent experts evaluating project proposals competing for EU research funds.
•Assist with the legal and financial validation of all European Union programme grants and procurement operations directly funded by the European Commission.
REA is based in Brussels with a multinational team of around 880 persons.

REA is a multicultural and dynamic body set up by the European Commission in 2007, originally for implementing parts of the Seventh EU Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration activities. In 2021, the Commission again extended the REA's mandate, until 2027, delegating to it additional actions of H2020 and Horizon Europe. The successful candidate(s) will work as Administrator – Research Programme Manager (AD 5-12). The level of responsibilities is set in accordance with the Grade.
In order to fill vacant posts in Department Β “Green Europe”, the European Research Executive Agency (REA) is currently looking for new collaborators as Administrators - Research Programme Managers (Temporary Agents AD5-12) with the following profiles:

A list of 15 suitable candidates will be established for immediate and future recruitment.
REA Department B aims at assisting the Commission in achieving the objectives of the European Green Deal (EGD), via the Research and Innovation Framework Programme, Horizon Europe, the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS) as well as the Promotion of Agricultural Products as part of CAP market measures.
Under the Horizon Europe Pillar II: Global Challenges & European Industrial Competitiveness the Department B implements Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture & Environment:
• Unit B2 - Farm to fork, Communities Development and Climate Action,
• Unit B3 - Biodiversity, Circular Economy and Environment,
• Unit B4 – Agri-Food promotion, Environmental Observation and Innovative Governance.
Unit B4 executes also activities related to the Promotion of Agricultural Products designed to open up new market opportunities for EU farmers and the wider food industry.
Unit B1 Future Low Emission Industries, in line with the Just Transition Mechanism, implements the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS).
Moreover, the Department oversees management of the legacy of the predecessor programmes.
The successful candidate(s) will work as Administrator - Research Programme Manager. The level of responsibilities is set in accordance with the grade.
As part of a team and under the supervision of a Head of Sector, the successful candidate will contribute to the overall planning and execution of the sector’s activities in cooperation with the parent DG. He/she will manage assigned projects and perform operational verification of files.
