Organisation
Mandated by the European Commission to support the EU Research and Innovation policy, the European Research Executive Agency (REA), funds high-quality research and innovation projects that generate knowledge for the benefit of society. The REA also manages promotion measures concerning agricultural products.
Accordingly, the REA's responsibilities are to:
•Manage research projects supported under Horizon Europe, the world's largest framework programme for research and innovation to date, running from 2021 to 2027.
•Manage research projects supported under Horizon 2020, the previous framework programme for research and innovation (2014-2020).
•Implement the European Union programmes Promotion of agricultural products and Research Fund for Coal and Steel, as well as ongoing projects funded under the EU's 2014-2020 budget.
•Assist funding and tender applicants, beneficiaries and independent experts.
•Manage the European Commission's Research Enquiry Service, which answers questions from grant applicants, EU-funded researchers and the public.
•Support independent experts evaluating project proposals competing for EU research funds.
•Assist with the legal and financial validation of all European Union programme grants and procurement operations directly funded by the European Commission.
REA is based in Brussels with a multinational team of around 1000 persons.

In order to fill a vacant post in unit D2 – People and Workplace, the European Research Executive Agency (REA) is currently looking for new collaborator as Administrative Adviser - Human Resources - Legal (contract agent FGIV).
Unit “People and Workplace” (D2) is a business partner for REA’s management and staff and helps the agency to adapt to its changing working environment. The unit helps REA as an organisation to assign its resources to priority objectives, and REA staff to perform their job in the best possible way. The unit provides the tools and means that the Agency needs to pursue its overall mission.
Our role in Human Resources is to align the skills, competencies, potential and motivation of REA’s most valuable resource – its PEOPLE – to the needs and priorities of the organisation. We aim to provide the highest quality of service paired with transparency, friendliness, cooperation and team spirit. REA is a multicultural and dynamic body set up by the European Commission in 2007, originally for implementing parts of the Seventh EU Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration activities. In 2021, the Commission again extended the REA's mandate, until 2027, delegating to it additional actions of H2020 and Horizon Europe. The successful candidate will work in Function Group IV as Administrative Adviser. The level of responsibilities is set in accordance with the Function Group. As part of a team and under the supervision of a Head of Sector, the successful candidate will carry out the main functions and duties of a Project Adviser, as described in the Vacancy Notice.
